Pirtek to support Olympics

Pirtek, the UK’s leading provider of Fluid Transfer Solutions, is setting in place the systems and services required to support the contractors working on the construction and infrastructure projects earmarked for completion before the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail, according to the old adage. As Europe’s Number One provider of on-site emergency hose replacements, it is an adage that Pirtek lives by. With the ink barely dry on the declaration that London is to host the 2012 Olympic Games, the company is already setting in place the support services needed to ensure that contractors hit vital completion deadlines on the hundreds of associated construction projects in and around the capital.

Preparation Across the UK Although the lion’s share of the Olympics construction work will be in and around the capital, investment and preparation will not be limited to Pirtek’s 10 London Service and Supply Centres. "The 2012 Olympic Games represents the largest combined construction project in recent UK history and it will effect contractors right across the UK," says Pirtek’s Construction and Plant Hire Sector Manager, Steve Derry. "That means that our 90+ Centres and over 375 mobile workshop vehicles will ALL be required to deliver on our service promise of Anytime, Anywhere, ETA One hour."

UK Sales Director Russell Mundell is similarly excited at the prospect of an upturn in construction demand in the run-up to the 2012 Olympic Games. "I am delighted that London has been awarded the 2012 Games. As well as bringing the very best in world sport to the capital, it will give the UK construction sector a much-needed shot in the arm," he concludes. "2012 seems a long way off but some of the larger contracts will take years to complete and even the smallest road improvement or river works will be covered by late completion clauses. That’s why Pirtek UK and its 90+ Centres are investing now, to ensure the Olympic contractors hit their schedules and that the London Games go down in history."
